I absolutely love these fashion sketches. The way that she sketches the clothing and portrays the girls wearing them is just mesmerizing to me. I swear I could stare at them forever....
I took a much needed trip to the mall the other day (hey, who am I kidding, I consider any trip to the mall to be "much needed" - anyone who has seen my closet might disagree though....) and came across these cute little accessories at Forever 21. All of these necklaces and the hair clips were only $1.50 each. I know they'll probably fall apart after a few wears, but who cares! (wow that rhymed) The necklaces are perfect for layering together or with a few simple long beaded necklaces, and the hair clips add a punch of colour to a simple hair style (great for those ho-hum hair days).
I also bought this little number (however, this one wasn't $1.50...I wish it was). I thought it was cute though, and its simple enough to layer over tights and under a big chunky knit sweater, topped off with a pair of knee high fall boots! Voila.
We all have those beauty products, be it your favorite lipgloss or an eyeliner that you just gotta have, that we couldn't live without. These are mine....
I went to Kooza with the bf on the weekend - I surprised him with tickets to it for our one year. I've never been to a Cirque Du Soleil performance before, so I'm not sure how it compares to others, but this one was amazing! We both absolutely loved it! The costumes were spectacular, and the live band did a great job. I would definitely suggest this to anyone who's looking for something fun and entertaining to do on a night out!
Now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to start thinking about the next momentous occasion....Halloween. While my family has already outfitted our house in a spew of decorations (my mom takes the cutesy pumpkin/ghost route, while my dad goes for blood, gore and tombstones), I have yet to decide on my costume. Cowgirl? Grecian? Any other ideas? I'll report back soon, after the decision has been finalized.
I really like the idea of one of these as a tattoo. More specifically, as a tattoo on the back of my neck. Not too big, but big enough to see the detail, and just plain black and white. I'm not too sure what mom and dad would think of it though...haha. Then again, they were more accepting of my first tattoo then I thought they would be, so you never know! Maybe I'll ask for a tattoo gift certificate for Christmas from the fam jam.... hint...hint...
Its that time of year again, time to baste the Turkey, mash the potatoes and put on those stretchy sweat pants. Thanksgiving is here (well, for us Canadian folks anyways - unfortunately our neighbours down south have to wait a bit longer to relish in the bliss that is Thanksgiving dinner). This year I have been granted the task of cooking up Thanksgiving dinner for the family (I say granted because my father is a hard sell when it comes to getting him out of the kitchen - But he has given me his word, promise and all, that he will in fact stay out of the kitchen this year and let me handle the entire dinner. I hope that he reads this and sees that this promise is now in writing.) Anyways, I am now presented with the question of what to cook for dinner - Obviously there will be a turkey, and stuffing (my favourite - I could eat just this for dinner and be completely blissful) But what about the potatoes - stuffed? mashed? oven roasted? green beans? brussel sprouts? cranberries? (Well, there has to be cranberries since my father insists on it every year - even though he's the only one that ever eats them and we throw half the can out. But, oh well, there will indeed be cranberries) Back to my potato dilemma - I know traditionally turkey dinner potato's are mashed, but, in my opinion that gets a little boring (maybe some parmesan and garlic mashed potatoes are in need here? I think so) And as for the veggies, green beans are a personal favorite (you'd be amazed at what can be done with a green bean) and maybe some cooked carrots (gotta take care of that eyesight). So turkey, potatoes, stuffing, green beans and carrots. What's missing? Aha! the dessert. Normally I'd opt for a pumpkin pie (I mean what better screams fall then pumpkin?), however, my mother despises pie with a passion, so I won't go there. Perhaps maybe a cheesecake will do? Maybe berry or chocolate or...pumpkin! (gotta get that pumpkin in there somewhere). Whew. Now all I have to do is run the menu by my family (I don't want any last minute complaints about missing turkey dinner components - "where are the ....?!?!? - after the grocery shopping has been done), and then I shall be all ready to wake up early Sunday morning, stuff the turkey (that is always the worst part, I mean honestly, who wants to stick there hand up a turkey's...well, you get the point) prepare all the side dishes and get cracking on that dessert. Wish me luck (and ill cross my fingers)!
